REO Speedwagon has been on tour for many years. In fact, they’ve played 26 concerts in 1973, which wsa one of the first years that the band had been playing together at all. At the time, the band was more local, so many of the band’s best and most frequented shows were in Midwestern venues in the US.
As time went on, the band continued to play across North America with an average of 20+ concerts a year during this early period.
Undeniably, the band’s brightest moments came along with their release of Hi-Infidelity which was their most successful album. It also led to 51 concerts eing performed in 1981, likely in support of this album and to feed the fanbase the band had developed.
Though things cooled somewhat since then, this period also saw an incredible set of concerts in the early 2000s, that included an average of 60+ concerts each year. With many of these shows being in US venues and music festivals.
The past few years have been odd for the band. Given that 2020 saw the COVID-19 pandemic, the band had to limit their appearances to just 16 concerts played. But then in 2021 and 2022 thigns went back to normal as the band played and planned over 110 combined concerts. And already REO Speedwagon has scheduled 15 concerts for 2023.
